Chinese steel exports carry on increasing

Steel product shipments from China rose in April, despite government efforts to reduce the volume. Exports went up 13.3% year-on-year to 8.54 Mt, and by 10.9% on March, customs data shows. Year-to-date the rise was 32.7% to 34.31 Mt, equal to an annualised rate of 102.9 Mt. A record total of 94 Mt was exported in 2014.
