Evaluation of double zero cultivars of Brassica napus under dryland conditions of Jammu.

Thirty cultivars of B. napus (rape) were evaluated for 7 traits in Jammu during the 1995-96 and 1996-97 seasons. Jaris had the highest seed yield (1.05 t/ha), low glucosinolate content (25-40 moles/gm), high oil content (36%) and low complete and moderate resistance to white rust [Albugo candida] and aphids. Karat, Hermes, Milla, Legend, Jupiter, Gulliver and Topa also had low glucosinolate contents and low erucic acid, but yielded less.
