Cytogenetic studies on synthetic Brassica juncea lines produced by sexual and somatic hybridization.

摘要

Brassica juncea (AABB, 2n=36) is an amphidiploid species derived from interspecific hybridization between B. rapa [B. campestris] (AA,2n=20) and B. nigra (BB, 2n=16). Chromosome number, meiotic pairing and pollen fertility were investigated in 19 plants from 5 resynthesized B. juncea lines (15041, 15042, 15049, 15050 and 15051). Various aneuploid plants were observed in the F2 progeny of the resynthesized B. juncea lines, suggesting the occurrence of meiotic instability in the F1 generation. In addition, monosomic plants (2n=35) had pollen fertility ranging from 12.9 to 95.5, suggesting that the plants were missing different chromosomes.
