PERFORMANCE OF CAULIFLOWER (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis) SELECTIONS IN THE TEMPERATE CLIMATE OF INDIA

Fourteen advance generation selections of late cauliflower were assessed for their performance for yield and other horticultural traits during 2001-2002 at Baragraon Farm of IARI, Regional station, Katrain (Kullu Valley) HP, India situated at 1560 m.a.s.l. Kt-2 gave the highest yield of 36.36 kg/ plot (9 m~2) foUowed by Kt-16 (32.76 kg/plot), Kt-17 was earliest in maturity besides minimum number of outer leaves. Both the high yielding selections produced good quality curds. Kt-2 is resistant to black rot and tolerant to sclerotinia rot too.
