The usefulness of RADP markers for discriminating Brassica species and assessing phylogenetic relationships was analysed using 6 Brassica taxa: B. cretica subspp. aegaea and laconica, B. hilarionis, B. incana, B. montana and B. oleracea. After amplification of random DNA sequences using the polymerase chain reaction and 4 decamer oligonucleotides, over 47 reproducible DNA polymorphic fragments were detected, ranging from 200 to 2400 bp in length. The dendogram obtained was consistent with acceptedtaxonomic relationships.
