ABB and Nexans to build NordLink

ABB has been revealed as the supplier of the NordLink interconnector in the German sector being built by transmission operators Statnett and TenneT. Nexans had already announced in February that it had received the interconnector award for the Norwegian and Danish sectors.ABB said that the order it has received is worth $900 million and will involve building the cable system in the German sector as well as the HVDC converter stations on the Norwegian and German sides. The contract also includes a five-year service agreement.
