Tariffs planned 'to boost Indonesian steel industry'

Indonesia's government and steel sector body IISIA have agreed 13 programmes with the goal of increasing the amount of locally made products in planned construction projects.Measures include raising steel import duties under a most favoured nation (MFN) clause; mandatory use of the national standard industrial benchmark for steel products; and competitive electricity and gas tariffs.
