German conglomerate Thyssenkrupp has introduced a strategic programme called 'One Steel' to, itsays, secure the business's long-term competitiveness.The five-year initiative follows success of the Steel Europe division's 'Best-in-Class Reloaded'optimisation programme launched in 2013, which has achieved efficiency gains of more than ?600 M($650 M) to date and ensured a profit of the steel division. In the 2014/15 fiscal year, the division'sprofit was around ?500 M and earned its cost of capital.
