Kuraray Unveils Upgraded PVB Encapsulant for Solar Cells

Kuraray Co. has developed for use in photovoltaic cells the second generation of its, polyvinyl butyral encapsulant whose performance outstrips that of ethylene vinyl acetate, a compound that currently dominates the market foriphotovoltaic-cell encapsulants. It plans to introduce the new product on the market in the second quarter of this year.
