Tosoh Forecasts Plunge in Operating Profit

Tosoh Corp,expects its operating loss for the full 2008 fiscal year ending March 31,2009,to reach yuan 20 bn due to shrunken demand,mainly in its businesses of polyvinyl chloride resin and methylene diphenyl diisocyanate! lackluster overseas markets;and inventory-depreciation losses due to lower material prices.Moreover,foreign-exchange losses,losses from the write-down of securities,and losses from its affiliates'revaluation of securities forced the Tokyo-based group to predict operating and net losses.It cut its year-end dividend forecast by yuan 2/share to yuan 6/share.
