Overall Cracker Operating Rate Dives to 10-Year Low

A move by domestic cracker operators to reduce their ethylene production is fast gaining momentum.With an increasing number of companies accelerating their production cutbacks in early fall,the Japan Petrochemical Industry Association estimated the overall capacity utilization rate of domestic crackers in October at 89.1%,breaking through the 90% threshold.It is first time in 10 years,since 1998,that operating rates have dropped into the eighties.
