Global Vaccine Action Plan: Decade of Vaccine Collaboration.

The Global Vaccine Action Plan (GVAP) is a framework approved by the World Health Assembly in May 2012 to achieve the Decade of Vaccines vision by delivering universal access to immunization by 2020. This article describes the current immunization landscape and presents GVAP's existing and new goals for the decade, proposed strategic objectives and actions, cost-benefit estimate of immunization, and progress. Annex 1 summarizes recommended indicators to monitor and evaluate progress, Annex 2 provides a summary of stakeholder responsibilities, and Annex 3 describes the costing and funding of immunization. The remaining 3 annexes describe the health impact of vaccination, the countries and organizations that contributed to the elaboration of GVAP, and the monitoring and evaluation/accountability framework for the GVAP, respectively.
