The US Commerce Dept. Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) posted on its website on the evening of Dec. 22 that crude producers in the US no longer require a license to export crude, opening the door for US crude to move to markets around the world freely. Enterprise Product Partners said Vitol was the first company to book a US crude export from its facilities without a license following the posting on the BIS website. The cargo, expected to load during the first week of 2016, will be of light sweet oil from the Eagle Ford play in Texas. It was not immediately known where the cargo would be shipped to.
