Chinese PC companies secure propane for PDH.

Nine companies are working to build 11 propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plants in China by 2015, and are accordingly looking abroad to obtain propane feedstocks for the facilities. Sources said two new propane supply deals were recently signed, by Zhejiang Satellite Petrochemical and Ningbo Haiyue New Materials. Zhejiang Satellite has reportedly signed deals with trading firms E1 of South Korea, and Astomos and Sojitz of Japan, with each trader to provide three 22K-mt shipments over 2014, for a total volume of 198K mt. "The Huachen terminal discharge size can only take a 22K-mt parcel, so Satellite is not able to receive full cargo of about 44K mt each," said a source.
