Iranian steel makers ask for import duties, as theirexports surge

Steel producers in Iran have asked the government to increase import tariffs on sheet steel by 40%,and by 30% on long products.The Iran Steel Producers' Association (ISPA) wants to protect the domestic market against cheapimports, mainly from China which have gone up by almost 30% this year from record levels last year.
