HANNOVER. Germany— Continental A.G. is raising its earnings forecast for fiscal 2016 slightly, based on bet-ter-than-expected sales growth in the first quarter, particularly in the tire and rubber sectors. For the quarter ended March 31, Conti reported a 6.4-percent gain in pre-tax operating profit to $1.15 billion, as sales revenue rose 2.9 percent to $9.57 billion in a period Conti Chairman Elmar Degenhart termed a "difficult market environment."
