Some 2007-08 Jeep Compass and Patriot models with T-355 or BG6 manual transmissions may emit an annoying squeak when the clutch pedal is applied or released. Fiat Chrysler said the noise only occurs on vehicles built before Aug. 6, 2007, and is most likely due to the clutch return spring coils making contact with each other. Spraying the spring liberally with a special lithium-based grease, Part No. 04318066AB, should fix the condition.
