Japan’s imports of ordinary steel products totaled 4,330,000 tons in fiscal 2015 (April 2015-March 2016), down6.5% from a year ago, indicating a year-on-year decrease for the first time in three years, according to the Japan Iron &Steel Federation.Of the total, HR coils accounted for 1,680,000 tons, up 2.8% from a year ago; CR coils 780,000 tons, down17.9%; galvanized sheets 760,000 tons, down 2.1%; and heavy plates 570,000 tons, down 9.6%.
