A NEW SPECIES AND A NEW RECORD OF THE GENUS UROPTYCHODES BABA, 2004 (DECAPODA, CHIROSTYLIDAE) FROM THE EAST CHINA SEA

摘要

Uroptychodes babai n. sp., a new species of squat lobster of the family Chirostylidae, and Uroptychodes barunae Baba, 2004, which is for the first time recorded from the East China Sea, are reported in the present paper. The new species is characterized by the lateral margins of the rostrum being almost entire, the carapace with the posterior two-thirds equipped with medium-sized spines, and the antennal scale overreaching the penultimate segment but failing to reach halfway the length of the ultimate segment of the antennal peduncle.
