October Scrap Arrivals at Kansai Tetsugen’s Yards

Japan’s Osaka-based Kansai Tetsugen council of ferrous scrap dealers secured a total of 70,924 tons of locallyavailable ferrous scrap in October 2015 for arrivals at member companies’ captive yards in the Osaka area, down 5.6%from the same month of a year ago, indicating a year-on-year decrease for two consecutive months, according to thecouncil. The total arrivals increased by 3.9% from a month ago, topping 70,000 tons for the first time in three months.Of the total arrivals, heavy scrap accounted for 51,941 tons, down 5.9% from the same month of a year ago;Shindachi (high-grade material) 12,335 tons, down 7.3%; and turnings 6,648 tons, up 0.1%.
