Kansai Electric Joins Hands with GDF Suez in LNG Procurement, Etc

Kansai Electric Power Company announced that it entered into a partnership agreement with French energygiant GDF Suez with a view to efficient procurement and marketing of LNG. The two companies will strive to shortentransportation distance and cut procurement costs by exchanging sources of supply according to destinations with eachother. In addition, both companies will create a broad ranging collaboration in LNG trading and optimum operations ofLNG carriers. The contract period will be four years starting in January2019 until December 2022. During the period theyplan to sell and purchase at lease 24 cargoes amounting to 1.6 million MT. It is possible to increase the quantity.
