There are signs that negotiations are still caught in a stalemated situation as to new deals for ferrous scrap exports out of Japan to South Korea, a principal destination. South Korea's midsize electric steelmakers and Posco Processing & Service Co (Posco P&S) have made sporadic inquiries for new purchases of Japanese ferrous scrap since the latter half of last week. But it is understood that new negotiated deals between sellers and buyers face stagnant growth so far. Posco P&S is a subsidiary of integrated steelmaker POSCO.
