US Steel (USS) of the USA decided not to proceed with an expansion at its pellet operations at the Keetac in Keewatin, Minnesota and to forgo further development and construction of the carbon alloy facilities at the Gary Works in Indiana. The company had planned to resume operations of the resting pellet line and would have increased a production capacity by 3.6 million tons to 9.6 million tons a year at the Keetac.
