Surge in China’s iron ore imports

Shipments of iron ore into China in November rose by 8.8% month-on-month to 82.13 Mt. Year-onyearthe increase was 22%, according to data from the General Administration of Customs.The upward trend comes at a time of decade-low prices for the raw material, falling crude steelproduction in China, lower domestic demand for steel products and continuing losses for Chinesesteel makers.
