The 761,000 t of steel shipped into India last month was 9.4% down on March's tally, government data shows. That matches the pattern seen in March itself, when imports decreased by 14.8% on the previous month of February. But April's import figure was 51.6% higher year-on-year, and March's up by 91.8% y/y.
