LNG Price's Regional Gap vs Price in U.S. Can Largely Narrow

Ms. Maria van der Hoeven, Executive Director of International Energy Agency (IEA) said that the regional differences in natural gas prices could largely narrow nearly to 2:1 (the price in Japan: the price in the U.S.) from the current 5:1, if a global gas market is established rapidly, the current rigid structure of contracting is loosened, such as the oil-indexed pricing and the restriction of unloading port, and, in addition, if Japan resumes nuclear power generation.
