With a lulled upswing in the containerized ferrous scrap market for imports into Taiwan, a wait-and-see atmosphere is predominating for negotiations on new deals. Just before a Feb 28 national holiday in Taiwan, negotiated prices of imports were around US$398/MT C&F for a mix of 80% No1 HMS/20% No2 HMS and US$403-405/MT C&F for the shredded grade, prices that changed little from earlier settlements.
