BHP Billiton's production summary for December 2012 quarter was released on January 23. Manganese ore production during the quarter was 2.117 million tons up from the same quarter of 2011, while manganese-group ferroalloys production was 153,000 tons, largely down from the year-ago quarter. Nickel production (34,7000 tons of contained nickel) and molybdenum concentrates production (410 tons) both declined from the Q4 of 2011.
