Wait-and-see Stance Shown On NO Electrical Sheets For China For May Shipment

Japan's negotiations on non-oriented (NO) electrical steel sheets for non-Japanese customers in China will start for May shipment in this week but most of the customers are showing a wait-and-see attitude, and are foreseen to skip such negotiations as the case may be. Baoshan Iron & Steel (Baosteel) of the Chinese major mill lowered its domestic prices of high grade by 500 CNY (79 dollars) and middle grade by 300 CNY (48 dollars) respectively for April shipment. Wuhan Iron & Steel increased prices of low grade by 50 CNY (8 dollars) to prevent price down, and maintained the same prices of others.
