There is a possibility that a stalemated situation will continue for a while as to new deals in ferrous scrap exports out of Japan to South Korea because price ideas differ markedly between sellers an buyers, according to market sources. Japan's ferrous scrap suppliers are bullish in their offers of exports on the whole. They describe their price requirements in new export deals as Y36,000-36,500/MT FOB for No2 HMS. But they admit that South Korea's steelmakers have yet to enter definite negotiations on new ferrous scrap purchases from Japan even after the Chuseok holidays.
