On 9th March (8th by local time), the shareholders meeting of Western Coal Corp. of Canada was held where overwhelming majority shareholders approved to accept the purchase proposal by Walter Energy Inc. of the United States. As a result, the buying out of Western has become very likely to be realized by Walter Energy on 1st April upon acquisition of approval by the Supreme Court of British Columbia
