China's Anshan Iron and Steel Group Corporation (“Ansteel”) and Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group Company (“Pansteel”) have formally merged into a new steel giant. Under the presence of SASAC (State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission), the representatives of both companies held a consolidation congress at Jingxi Hotel, Beijing on July 28 thereby finalizing the merger.
