JUNIOR DOCTORS RESUME TALKS AFTER STRIKE ACTION

Junior doctors in England called off a 48-hour strike, due to start on 26 January 2016, after resuming talks with the Department of Health and NHS Employers. The move followed a 24-hour strike on 12 January 2016, when 38,000 junior doctors took industrial action over their proposed new contract. The decision led to the cancellation of 1,425 inpatient procedures and 2,535 outpatient appointments.
