India ginning industry faces difficulties

The ginning and pressing industry in India is more than 100 years old. In spite of such a long history, this industry is still in the small-sector and is working with the same out dated technology. It is very unfortunate that even after so much technological development in almost every field of life, the Indian ginning industry is still working with old technology. Thus quality improvement is difficult with the outdated technology. Moreover, the existing Indian ginning technology requires a large work force which leads to contamination of cotton to a significant level.
