A national service that reimburses pharmacists for prowling emergency supplies of prescription medicines would boost patient care and improve communication between pharmacy and general practice, research suggests. Community pharmacists regularly supply medicines to patients who, for various reasons, have run out and cannot get hold of a repeat prescription in time, according to a study published in BMJ Open on 20 July 2015.
