Erasure order for pharmacist who took drugs from pharmacy for his own use

A PHARMACIST who removed medicines from the pharmacy where he worked for his own use has had his name removed from the Register by order of the fitness-to-practise committee of the General Pharmaceutical Council. Thang Tran (registration number 2071818) appeared before the committee on 7,8 and 9 October 2013. He faced allegations that on a number of occasions between March 2012 and June 2012 while working as a pharmacist at a Salisbury's pharmacy in Birmingham, he removed prescription-only and nonprescription medicines from the pharmacy without authority. It was further alleged that he did not have a prescription for the items, he did not pay for them, he knew that he had no authority to take them and he removed them for his own use.
