Safeguarding members' future best interests

THERE is so much going on in pharmacy and in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society at present it is difficult to know where to start in this, my first regular column in the new Your RPS section of The Pharmaceutical Journal, but the so-called "rebalancing proposals" are top of the agenda. With all the discussion and debate taking place at present over the proposals — aimed at deciding which pharmacists' actions presently monitored and managed through the legal system could instead be managed under a professional system of regulation put in place by the General Pharmaceutical Council — it does no harm to remind ourselves exactly what the priorities should be.
