Assisted suicide on the agenda again

IT WAS February 2010 when Keir Starmer, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) published policy guidelines for the Crown Prosecution Service to follow when deciding whether or not to prosecute cases of assisted suicide. The policy did not change the law on assisted suicide, or open the door for euthanasia, or override the will of Parliament. So what was the policy intended to achieve?
