Reducing waste of HIVmedicines

I was interested to read aboutLin-Nam Wang's blog onmedicines waste (PJ Online, 10 January 2012) and see her appearance on the subsequent BBC television interview (10 February 2012). HIV specialist pharmacists are recognising those clinical situations where waste may be more likely to occur, such as intolerance and virologicalfailure. Pharmacists are alsoencouraging patients to self-manage their supplies, to inform doctors how much they have at home and to be aware of the value of antiretrovirals.
