Let's recap on gliptin DPP-4 inhibitors

THERE are currently four agents that inhibit dipeptidylpeptidase-4 available in the UK. Commonly called "gliptins", they are a relatively new class of drugs. Linagliptin (Trajenta) is still included in the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency black triangle scheme, so is being intensively monitored. Sitagliptin (Januvia), saxagliptin (Onglyza) and vildagliptin (Galvus) products were removed from the black triangle list during the second half of 2012.
