EIGHT venues will be used for this summer's registration examination, an increase from the five venues used last year, the General Pharmaceutical Council has announced.Following complaints about the organisation of the June 2011 exam (PJ 2011;287:42), the GPhC is limiting the number of students at each venue to 500 and has improved procedures for registering candidates so as to avoid a repeat of last year's bottlenecks. At its meeting last week, the council noted the eight venues for the June 2012 exam, including two in London and one each in Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds/Bradford and Sunderland.
