ANAPHYLAXIS remains an adverse event that occurs very rarely in children after immunisation, according to prospective surveillance carried out in the UK and Ireland. The study, published online this week in the Archives of Disease in Childhood (23 January 2012), included any suspected cases of anaphylactic shock following immunisation of children under 16 years of age that were reported to the British Paediatric Surveillance Unit from September 2008 to October 2009.
