A NEW remuneration structure for community pharmacy in Scotland is likely to be introduced later mis year, if Scottish Government plans go ahead. This is part of a continued move away from payment by dispensing volume. In addition to ongoing negotiations around the total financial settlement (see left), Community Pharmacy Scotland is also discussing a restructuring of remuneration with the Scottish Government. It is likely that this will involve the introduction of an "establishment payment" and a "dispensing volume payment".
