New drugs uptake needs boost

ACTION is needed to boost the use of new drugs and stop the UK slipping down the global tables for drug discovery, chief executive of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry Stephen Whitehead has said. Speaking in London last week at the ABPI conference, Mr Whitehead said the industry needs to engage with the Government about the proposed system of value-based drug pricing, to ensure it supports innovation.
