摘要

I have to disagree with Sid Dajani (FJ, 27 October 2012, p457), who, I think, gives the typical knee-jerk reaction of many pharmacists to any new proposal. My view is that the current way in which we display and sell pharmacy medicines is denying some patients the opportunity to purchase either bigger packs or more potent medicines. My observation is that customers have largely lost the ability to "shop" in the traditional way — that is to go to the counter and ask — because all their experiences are in supermarkets where, if you cannot find it, you have to assume they have not got it.
