Damaging the profession

I strongly suggest that the senior executive of GlaxoSmithKline resigns with a full apology to minimise the reputational damage that the company and the whole of the pharmaceutical industry will suffer as a result of its wrongdoings, and its public humiliation and fine of $3bn by the US authorities. This will send a sign to those who ignore the industry's own rulebook (such as the Association of the BritishPharmaceutical Industry code in the UK) and demonstrate a positive commitment for the future.
