Cotton Community Prepares to 'Grow Together' in Hong Kong

History will be made on Nov. 1, 2012, when the International Cotton Association (ICA) kicks off its international trade conference and annual dinner in Hong Kong. The two-day event, which will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center,expects to draw more than 1,000 attendees from the global cotton community. It's the first time in the ICA's 170-plus year history that the event won't be held in Liverpool, where so many cotton and textile professionals have gathered in St. George's Hall. But the ICA, despite its long and storied history, has never stopped evolving to meet the needs of its current market. And, since China and the entire southeast Asian region are the center of global cotton consumption, Hong Kong was an ideal fit, according to Antonio Esteve, ICA president.
