Candesartan has lower death risk than losartan

Candesartan is associated with a lower risk of death than losartan in patients with heart failure, according to a recent observational study (JAMA 2011;305:176). However, the researchers acknowledge that clinical decision making should await supportive evidence of this association, ideally in randomised controlled trials.
