Routine provision of advance EHC not supported

ROUTINELY providing emergency hormonal contraception (EHC) in advance of need is not supported by evidence, according to updated guidance from the Faculty of Family Planning and Reproductive Health Care. The emergency contraception guidance updates the 2006 version, which predicted that increasing the uptake of EHC through advance provision "may reduce the rate of unintended pregnancies".
