Patients free to choose GP in Department of Health pilot

PATIENTS will soon be given the chance to register with a GP practice of their choice, in a pilot which, if successful, could be rolled out across England. The option to switch to a surgery that is geographically outside traditional practice boundaries is expected to appeal particularly to busy commuters. Patients will not be entitled to dual registration.
